I am informed that both the current and previous executive directors of the Department of Conservation and Land Management have given permission to a number of employees to engage in activities outside of their functions, pursuant to the Public Sector Management Act. However, there is no register of people who have been given that permission, and to find out that information would mean trawling through the personal file of every employee. I suggest to the member that if she has a specific concern, she raise it with me, and I will follow it up. I am informed that the number of such requests in any one year is very small, but given the huge number of people employed in CALM, a specific concern would need to be raised with me.
