(1) Yes (2) The multiple uses of forests (including beekeeping) in the South West were considered in the development of the Forest Management Plan 2014-23 that guides all Forest Products Commission (FPC) harvesting activities. The FPC advertises the location of future harvesting operations through the annual Timber Harvest Plans and stakeholders are encouraged to provide feedback. During detailed planning for each individual harvest coupe the location of authorised apiary sites is checked and written notification is provided to the leasee requesting them to contact the FPC to address any concerns. (3) - (4) Flowering cycles within jarrah and karri forests are complex, with significant flowering events generally occurring every four to six years. Harvesting occurs in a landscape mosaic and silvicultural practices emphasise the retention of some older trees and patches of forest as a seed source and for wildlife habitat, aesthetics, structural complexity and other purposes such as honey production.
