I thank Hon Barbara Scott for some notice of this question. The Minister for Police and Emergency Services has provided the following answer - (1) The Oombulgurri multifunctional police facility is currently listed as a high priority on the WA Police 10-year capital investment plan. An interim service is under development in the community, with the extensive upgrading of the existing police post to provide a suitable facility for use by police and visiting agencies as required. (2) WA Police has provided a permanent relief in the Oombulgurri community since April 2006. These officers are attached to the Wyndham Police Station. It is the intention of WA Police to maintain this service, with a long-term view to permanently base staff at Oombulgurri upon development of suitable accommodation.
