QuestionView source ↗
I refer to question on notice 1845, asked on 17 May 2005 and answered 10 months later on 14 March 2006, to which the Minister for Justice advised that there were 14 escapes from Broome Regional Prison in 2000-01 and 31 escapes from the Broome jail in 2004-05. (1) Will the minister please advise the number of escapes from the Broome jail since 17 May 2005? (2) In order to correlate any additional escapes into the recording period used for the earlier information, will the minister please advise whether those periods are calendar years or financial years; and, if neither, will he please provide the range? (3) What were the offences committed by the 31 escapees before and subsequent to the escapes? (4) What measures have been taken and/or will be taken under the security review to improve security at the Broome jail? Hon KIM CHANCE
