I refer to the press release dated 18 December 2009 from Kate Lamont, Chairman of Tourism Western Australia regarding the strategic review of the Agency’s role in developing the State’s tourism industry, and ask -
(1) Will the Minister release the details of the strategic review?
(2) If yes to (1), when will the Minister release the contents of the review and its findings?
(3) Resulting from the strategic review, -
(a) are there any plans by the Minister or the Board of Tourism WA to privatise or outsource any functions or divisions of the Agency, other than the Western Australian Visitors Centre in Forrest Place; and
(b) are there any plans to move any functions or divisions of Tourism WA to any new or existing State Government Departments or Agencies?
(4) Will the ‘significant changes’ to be made at Tourism WA as noted by Chairman Lamont as a result of the strategic review cause any job losses at Tourism WA, other than from the Western Australian Visitors Centre?
(5) If yes to (4), how many Tourism WA jobs will be lost, including both permanent and fixed term contract employees, other than those from the Western Australian Visitors Centre?
(6) How many Tourism WA jobs will be lost, including both permanent and fixed term contract employees, as a result of privatising the Western Australian Visitors Centre?
