I refer to the Minister’s media release of 15 June 2011 headlined ‘State Budget provides more funding to widen South Hedland revitalisation, and I ask:
(a) is this project the same project that was announced in the joint media statement issued by the Premier and the Minister on 27 November 2009;
(b) how many cinema operators or cinema investors have spoken to the Minister concerning the potential for investment in the development outlined by the Minister in his announcement; and
(c) how many hotel operators or hotel investors have spoken to the Minister concerning the potential for investment in the development outlined by the Minister in his announcement?

(a) Yes, this is the same project although the scope of works has been expanded to upgrade existing infrastructure and provide additional land holdings for residential use.
(b) - (c) In the course of my duties as Minister for Regional Development; Lands I have spoken to many commercial and residential land developers about the development opportunities that are available as a direct result of this Government's commitment to the region through the Pilbara Cities initiative.
