representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to WA Country Health Service's
recruitment process to recruit a clinical director and consultant psychiatrist
for the goldfields.
(1) Are these
newly created positions; and, if so, when were the positions created and when
were they first advertised?
(2) If no to (1),
how long have the positions been vacant, how long have they been advertised,
how many times have they been advertised and when were they advertised?
(3) If the
positions are replacing fly in, fly out medical staff, when was the last time
each position was filled by goldfields-based psychiatrists?
(4) What is the
salary range for each position?

created.
(2) The clinical
director position has been vacant since April 2014. This position has been
advertised twice—in May 2014 and in August 2015—and is in the
process of being readvertised. The consultant psychiatrist position has been
vacant since October 2012. This position has been advertised via a pool
process, which commenced in June 2014 and is still open.
(3) The clinical director position was last filled
with a goldfields-based psychiatrist up to May 2011. The consultant
psychiatrist position was last filled with a goldfields-based psychiatrist up
to September 2012 .
(4) The clinical
director salary is in the range of $327 849 to $412 730 per annum. The
consultant psychiatrist salary is in the range of $312 132 to $397 013 per
annum.
