A WA parliamentary question on notice regarding the location of a sewer line in Cloverdale and whether fences were removed and replaced during its construction. The Minister tables a plan but lacks specific records on fence removal, inferring it likely occurred and fences were likely replaced according to standard practice.

I refer to question without notice 39. (1) Having regard to the facts laid out in the minister’s response, will the minister table a plan showing the distance of the sewer line in Arlunya Avenue, Cloverdale? (2) Were any fences removed by the then Water Authority to gain access to the subject land to enable the laying of the sewer line; and, if so, were the fences re-erected on the lot boundaries? Hon NICK GRIFFITHS

(1)-(2) I table a drawing that has been prepared from an “as constructed” plan and field book completed at the time the sewer was constructed. It shows the distance of the sewer line from the boundaries of lot 16, 137 Arlunya Avenue, Cloverdale. There were no specific records available to indicate whether any fences were removed at the time the sewer was constructed. However, based on the fact that the sewer line crosses the boundary, it is highly likely that the fence would have been removed to allow the construction of the sewer. Normal practice would have been to re-erect fences on lot boundaries. [See paper No 2061.]
