SYNERGY AND VERVE — RE-MERGER
583. Mr W.J. JOHNSTON to the Minister for Energy:
I have a
supplementary question.
Dr K.D. Hames : Don't do it to us!
Mr W.J. JOHNSTON : Could the minister please tell us the date
on which he discussed his plan with the Premier?

AnswerView source ↗

I undertook an
interview with a bunch of journalists, some of whom are up in the press
gallery. Did I say that I had a grand plan? No. Did I write down a plan? No. I
was asked: where are we going in the long term with this industry? That is
something members opposite struggle with. The member for Cannington is
satisfied with the status quo. He is satisfied with us funnelling money into
that electricity entity. He is satisfied, but I am not.
The SPEAKER : Minister, come back to the answer now, please.
Dr M.D. NAHAN : I said that down the track, this industry will
evolve. That is it.
Mr P.B. Watson : That's it?
Dr M.D. NAHAN : That is it, yes. Members opposite look
really smart!
Mr W.J. Johnston : You look really smart!
The SPEAKER : Thank you, member for Cannington. I call you to order for the first
time.
