Western Australia is a signatory to the National Road Safety Strategy, and from 2012 the Minister must report annually to the Western Australian Parliament on the progress in road safety, including safety performance indicators. In relation to this, I ask:
(a) why has the Government not reported to Parliament on Western Australia's progress; and
(b) when will the Minister report to Parliament?

Under Section 13 of the Road Safety Council Act 2002 , the Road
Safety Council is required to give the responsible Minister a report on
activities of the Council in the previous financial year and that report is to
be tabled in Parliament by the Minister within 14 sitting days of its receipt
from the Council. This legislated requirement is in line with the
recommendation made in the National Road Safety Strategy 2011-2020, and agreed
by State and Territory Ministers, that Ministers responsible for road safety
report annually to their parliament on the progress in road safety, including
safety performance indicators.
The Road Safety Council has prepared annual reports on road safety activity
and key performance indicators since 2003, and these have been tabled in
Parliament as required by the State legislation since that time. As the current
Minister for Road Safety, I tabled the Road Safety Council's Annual Report on
Activity for 2011/12 on 24 October 2012.
