I refer to Budget Paper No. 2, Volume 1 at page 379, "Net Appropriation Determination", line item Licences, and ask, noting that licence fees have been increased this year, why has the amount of licence fees retained for the Police budget not been increased either this year or across the forward estimates, given that the Western Australian Police are facing increasing demands and pressures?

The "Net Appropriation Determination" line item 'Licences' reflects licences revenue budgeted to be received by Western Australia Police.
Recovery of licences costs is projected to increase in 2014-15 due to a combination of an increase in volume of applications and an increase in the fees set for the 2014-15 Financial Year. This is currently being reviewed as part of the 2014-15 Mid-Year Review process and any adjustments to budgeted revenue will be raised through this process.
