I refer to a joint media statement released by the Premier and the Minister for Health under the heading “Premier announces free 24-hour mental health advice line for South-West residents”. I should have included in the printed copy of the question that the media statement was dated February 17. I apologise for the omission, although I am sure the departmental staff had no trouble finding it. (1) Has a contract been let to McKesson-Asia Pacific Pty Ltd to establish the South West 24 7x4 triage service for the south west region? (2) If yes, at what cost and of what duration? (3) Will the medical personnel at the call centre for the South West 24 centre be nurses with current registration with the Nurses Board of Western Australia division 1 general or comprehensive; and will qualifications in, or recent experience of, psychiatric nursing be an essential requirement of the nurses operating the mental health call centre? (4) Where will the call centre be located? (5) If the mental health call centre assessment is triage levels 1 and 2, indicating that a person has an acute psychiatric episode requiring urgent treatment, where are psychiatrists located who will provide that treatment? (6) How many psychiatrists are currently employed with the South West Health Service? Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH
