I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) Six hundred and two vehicles are licensed to operate as small charter vehicles. (2) Operators’ records are audited on both a random and program basis to ensure compliance with licence conditions. In addition, Transport officers are actively carrying out field patrols to monitor the integrity of SCV operations. A mechanism has been established and publicised to receive complaints. The legislative provisions exist to take action against operators who neglect or fail to comply with the terms and conditions of the licences. This can include prosecution and the licences being revoked or suspended where these breaches are of a continuous and significant nature.
