(1) & (2) Following examination of other systems, it is intended to tailor a model specific to Western Australian needs.
Functions proposed for the role include oversighting and regulatory responsibilities and research, while avoiding bureaucratic duplication and maintaining Commission independence.
It is not an "either or" situation and question two reflects a lack of understanding by the Opposition of the importance of a strong approach to children.
