PERTH
STADIUM — COSTS
533. Ms R. SAFFIOTI to the
Minister for Sport and Recreation:
I have a supplementary question. Can the minister confirm
that, on top of the $1.21 billion DBFM contract in 2014 NPV terms, additional
costs of the stadium precinct and other works is $150.6 million and that the
cost of the transport infrastructure on top of those two figures is $336.2 million?

AnswerView source ↗

I have just gone through it and I am not going to change the
figures that I gave the member. The figures that we have and that every
minister involved in this project has given are $358 million for transport and
$1.2 billion for the contract value with Westadium, which includes
refurbishment. Members continue to compare oranges with apples and they are
making it confusing for the public.
Ms R. Saffioti :
You are misleading the house.
Ms M.J. DAVIES : I
absolutely am not.
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Sit
down, please! Member for West Swan and Minister for Sport and Recreation, I
call you to order for the first time. Member for West Swan, that is quite
enough. Minister, a quick answer through the Chair.
Ms M.J. DAVIES :
Thank you, Mr Speaker. We have been very consistent with the information that
we have provided the opposition. In fact, we have provided everything they have
asked for. I understand that this is a complex issue and I understand why the
member cannot get her head around it, but I cannot be responsible for that.
Point of Order
Mr
P.T. MILES : The member for Cannington just made some unparliamentary
comments about the minister and I ask that he be asked to withdraw them.
The
SPEAKER : Member for Cannington.
Mr
W.J. JOHNSTON : Which remarks?
The SPEAKER :
Member for Cannington, I never heard what you said, but if you made an
unparliamentary comment, just withdraw.
Mr W.J. JOHNSTON :
If I made an unparliamentary remark, I unconditionally withdraw.

Mrs L.M. Harvey :
Spineless.
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER :
Minister for Police, I call you to order for the first time.
Withdrawal of Remark
Mr
W.J. JOHNSTON : Are we
suggesting that the comment ''spineless'' is parliamentary? I am
happy whichever ruling you want to make; it does not trouble me at all. I am
just making sure it is parliamentary.
The
SPEAKER : Please withdraw the
comment.
Mrs
L.M. HARVEY : I withdraw.
Several members
interjected.
The SPEAKER : Members!
Mr W.J. Johnston : The good thing is I am not a thief.
The SPEAKER : Member for Cannington, that is not necessary for you to even say
that. It is not necessary.
Several members
interjected.
The SPEAKER : Member for Swan Hills, I call you to order for the first time. It is
just not necessary.
