(1) The Department of Treasury and Finance does not hold or collect royalty receipts by region or by producer. The Department of Industry and Resources (DOIR) is responsible for the collection of royalties and has advised that its systems do not currently produce royalty statistics by region. It is recommended that this question be referred to DOIR if further information is required.
(2) The May 2007 Budget estimate for mining royalties (including North West Shelf Grants) is $2,514 million in 2007-08 and $2,709 million in 2008-09. All but approximately 10% of royalities are redistributed to other States under the Commonwealth Grant's Commission.
(3) The Department of Housing and Works has advised that it does not keep the requested information on a regional basis and therefore it would take some time to collate. On this basis it is recommended that this question be referred to the Minister for Housing and Works.
