384. Hon Dr Brad Pettitt to the minister representing
the Minister for Corrective Services:
I refer to adult
prison and youth detention facilities.
Can the minister
please provide a list of each death in custody this calendar year to date,
including:
(1) the date the death occurred;
(2) the prison or facility in which the individual
was detained;
(3) whether the person was Aboriginal or Torres
Strait Islander; and
(4) whether the person was on remand?

the question. The Minister for Corrective Services has provided the following response. The Department of Justice advises that for the 2025
calendar year to date, the following deaths in custody have occurred. The
information is in tabular form, so I seek to have the table incorporated into Hansard .
