255. Hon SAMANTHA ROWE to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the development of the Fiona Stanley Hospital
information and communications technology system.
(1) What are the problems with the
development of the webPAS patient administration system?
(2) When was the webPAS system due
to be operational and when will it actually be operational?
(3) What are the current problems in
the hospital-based ICT network?
(4) How many
business systems within that hospital network need to be developed for the full
operation of Fiona Stanley Hospital and how many are currently completed?
(5) For those incomplete business
systems, what are the expected completion dates?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1) There are no
problems with the development of webPAS. It continues to progress through its
release cycle and is currently being configured for use at Fiona Stanley
Hospital.
(2) WebPAS is
in operation at the moment in Fremantle, Swan District, Albany and the great
southern.
(3) There are
no outstanding network issues. A test lab commenced at Fiona Stanley Hospital
on 10 June 2013, with access to all current health systems via the network.
(4) There are
48 core systems for Fiona Stanley Hospital's operations of which 27 systems
are completed, ready for configuration of clinical and administrative
workflows. The remaining 21 systems are currently being developed or enhanced
for Fiona Stanley Hospital use.
(5) All core
systems identified for Fiona Stanley Hospital are scheduled for release,
configuration and deployment by October 2014.
