(a) will the pressure reduction plan, as trialled in Waterford, Shelley and Rossmoyne, be extended to other suburbs;
(b) if so, to what suburbs;

(e) if the Minister will not release the report, why not;
(f) what effect will reducing water pressure have on the ability of emergency services crews to fight fires in a timely and efficient manner?

(a) Based on the trials in Waterford, Shelley and Rossmoyne, the extension of the pressure management program to other suburbs appears to be justified, but a decision to proceed will depend on the outcome of a planning study and business case.
(b) Currently, the Water Corporation is undertaking a planning study to determine which particular parts of Perth would be suitable for a pressure management program.
(c) The planning study will be followed by the production of a business case aimed at justifying the allocation of capital and operating funds to achieve the predicted water savings. The timing of an expanded pressure management program is dependent on the outcome of the business case and on the availability of funds, but is not expected to commence before 2011/2012.
(d) The report entitled "Network Optimisation Trials in Waterford, Shelley and Rossmoyne" is available on the Water Corporation's website.
(e) Not applicable
(f) Pressure reducing equipment is configured to automatically rapidly adjust to meet increased demand from anywhere in the affected pipe network. The Fire and Emergency Services Authority was satisfied with the response testing on the trial installations at Waterford, Shelley and Rossmoyne.
