I have a supplementary question. Is
it National Party policy to support the position of the Minister for Racing and
Gaming?

Of course the Leader of the National
Party supports the Minister for Racing and Gaming but the Minister for Racing and
Gaming is absolutely entitled to manage his portfolio areas through the cabinet
process. All cabinet ministers—only a handful of people over there have
actually been ministers —

portfolio areas, they take a range of positions before cabinet and seek the
support of cabinet for that to be a government position. If it is legislative,

has carriage of anything through cabinet. I think it is an inappropriate
question to ask the Leader of the National Party in this house.
