Regarding health services in the South West, I ask -
(1) Is it true that the Department of Health has extended, or is seeking to extend, the contract of the private operator of the Health Department Call Centre to encompass the Patient Assisted Travel Scheme (PATS) for the South West Area Health Service?
(2) If yes to (1), can you advise the approximate cost of the extension of this contract?
(3) Further, is the extension of this contract consistent with Government policy and standards for purchasing and contracts?
(4) If yes to (3), how is it consistent?
(5) If no to (3), why not?
(6) Has the outsourcing of this work been subject to a full cost benefit analysis?
(7) If yes to (6), will that cost benefit analysis be made public?
(8) Can you confirm that three Manjimup based employees of the South West Area Health Service who have provided the PATS service for the region have been advised that their positions are no longer required?
(9) Does the Minister support the outsourcing of public sector work to multi-national private corporations?
