WA Parliamentary Question on Notice regarding contracts awarded to consulting firms (McKinsey, Deloitte, Ernst & Young) by agencies and government trading enterprises within the Energy portfolio during the 2014-15 and 2015-16 financial years. The answer provides the number of contracts and some context, but largely withholds specific contract values citing commercial confidentiality.

(1) I refer to the agencies, departments and government trading
enterprises in the Minister’s portfolios and ask: In each of the 2014-15 and 2015-16
financial years how many separate contracts have been awarded to, or other
engagements made with, consulting firms: (a) McKinsey; (b) Deloitte; and (c) Ernst and Young? (2) What was the purpose and value of each contract or engagement? (3) With respect to government trading enterprises, in which cases did the Board have knowledge of, or authorise, the expenditure?
