Geraldton is in urgent need of a marine services precinct and associated 200-tonne boat lifter to support its marine industry. The federal government has now committed $1.078 million and a local industry consortium has agreed to contribute $500 000. When will the state government make a commitment to contribute $1.5 million so that this project can go ahead? Hon KIM CHANCE

AnswerView source ↗

I thank Hon Murray Criddle for this very important question. The government is well aware of the significant contribution of this project to the Geraldton and mid-west community, and that is reflected by its very broad support for the project. The state government will shortly consider a formal request for the state to contribute $1.5 million to the project.
