I refer to medical equipment management registers for each hospital, and ask: (a) Does each hospital have a medical equipment management register: (i) If not, why not; (b) What information is recorded on the register; (c) Does the register capture all medical equipment: (i) If not, why not and what equipment is not captured; and (d) Are reports produced or generated from this register and if so: (i) What reports are produced, how often and who are they provided to; and (ii) Will the Minister table examples of the reports defined (d)(i) for each hospital as at 16 September 2019?

Live dashboards are available through the use of the Microsoft PowerBi reporting tool. Reports include Planned Preventative activity (internally Managed and Supplier Managed), Reactive Maintenance Activity, 10 Year Strategic Asset Replacement plan. These are provided to the Executive Director of Procurement Infrastructure and Contract Management.
SMHS
Equipment Status report generated quarterly for internal clinical engineering use.
Repair Job Request performance graph generated monthly for reporting to the Executive Director Corporate Services and Finance and the South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) Board. The Managed Equipment Service Summary Report is generated monthly for reporting to the SMHS Contracts Management team.
Managed Equipment Service Maintenance Condition Report is provided annually.
WACHS
Currently, information is accessible live via the Asset Management System or alternatively via system data extract. Customised reports are currently in development and the frequency and distribution of these will be determined by the WACHS Medical Equipment Governance Committee.
NMHS
The assets in the fixed asset register form part of the monthly Statutory Reporting requirements regarding total assets held on the Statement of Financial Position. Statutory reporting is generated monthly and annually. In addition, a Fixed Asset Report for Medical Equipment is produced on a monthly basis for hospital sites. This report is available to all Finance Directors and Finance and Business Officers.
EMHS
Formal reports are produced from the FAR annually for financial reporting and audit purposes, and tri-annually for the purposes of stocktake procedures, in accordance with the WA Health Financial Management Manual for asset management.
