LAND TAX — INCREASES — MINISTER FOR
TRANSPORT'S COMMENTS
288. Mr B.S. WYATT to the Treasurer:
I have a supplementary question. Can
the Treasurer confirm, since he is the Treasurer and responsible for policies
such as land tax, that the Minister for Transport did not raise any objections
to him in respect of the land tax regime in the 2016–17 budget?

Again, I go back to the issue. I am
the Treasurer, but I am not here to speak on behalf of the Minister for
Transport who was the Minister for Finance at the time.
Several members interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Members!
Mr
M. McGowan : Did Nigel Satterley raise it with you?
Dr
M.D. NAHAN : No, he is the Leader of the Opposition's mate! Nigel
Satterley is a major funder of the Labor Party. Look at the returns! It was $25
000 last year—none to the Liberal Party! Did the Leader of the
Opposition put him up to that? He made a fool out of himself, so I thought the
Leader of the Opposition might have done it!
Mr
M.H. Taylor interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Member for Bateman; member for Willagee!
Mr
D.J. Kelly interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Member for Bassendean, I call you to order for the first time.
That is enough; that is finished.
