(a-b) At different times the Department of Indigenous Affairs (DIA) has responded to issues and events concerning firebreaks, clean?ups, inter-family conflict, housing management issues and governance matters. This has resulted in a number of visits, usually at the request of the Chairperson or residents, by staff mainly from DIA's Metropolitan/Wheatbelt Regional Office in Midland.
Two official requested meetings with Cullacabardee residents have taken place since March 2009:
7 April 2009 - Aboriginal Lands Trust site visit and community meeting regarding a number of issues then impacting on the community.
13 November 2009 - Meeting with DIA Land Branch and Department of Housing representatives concerning housing management issues.
(c-d) No. The record of detail sought concerning Cullacabardee is beyond what DIA can supply. DIA does not routinely log inward telephone calls on the large number of general and generic enquiries it receives concerning over 280 Aboriginal communities around the State.
