I refer to recommendation 12 of report 12, of the Standing Committee on Estimates and Financial Operations into the Balga Works Program, where it stated, ‘The Committee recommends that the Government examine whether it has any recourse to recoup monies including outstanding wages and superannuation from any individual or company and their directors involved in the management of the Balga Works Program including Mr Hammond, Mr Michael Carton and Hurson Pty Ltd’, and ask -
(1) Have you instructed the Department of Education and Training to examine whether it has any recourse to recoup monies including outstanding wages, and superannuation from any individual or company and their directors involved in the management of the Balga Works Program including Mr Hammond, Mr Michael Carton and Hurson Pty Ltd?
(2) If yes to (1), has the examination concluded and will the Minister table it at the next day’s sitting?
(3) If no to (1), why not given that as a committee member you supported this recommendation and now as the Minister you have the power to implement it?
