(1) The submission to Infrastructure Australia was for 'Transport Links around Perth Airport'. It does not include road infrastructure or parking within the Airport estate.
(2) The submission to Infrastructure Australia does not request funding for parking and roads infrastructure within the Airport estate.  Perth Airport does however perform a vital role in the economic, cultural and social development of Western Australia, the success of which depends heavily on it being accessible. The regional road network in the vicinity of Perth Airport services a vast array of social and economic uses, including access to the Kewdale area, the major freight hub for the metropolitan area.
Much of this infrastructure is currently operating beyond capacity during peak periods, resulting in significant congestion and lost productivity. Road congestion is materially impacting on the ability of the Perth Airport to serve and grow, and the efficiency of freight transport to service the adjacent freight hub and intermodal facilities in Kewdale.
(3) As the Member is aware, matters discussed in Cabinet are a matter for that executive body.
