DIANELLA
HEIGHTS PRIMARY SCHOOL EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTRE
1104. Hon AMBER-JADE SANDERSON to the Minister for Education:
I refer to the construction of an early childhood facility at
Dianella Heights Primary School and its impacts on the adjacent bushland.
(1) Has the
department undertaken any work to rehabilitate the bushland adjacent to the new
buildings, as promised at the meeting with the local community?
(2) Have the large piles of waste at the edge of the bushland
been removed?
(3) Can the
minister assure the local community that the bushland adjacent to the school
will be better maintained?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question.
(1) Yes. The
installation of additional tube-stock plantings needed to rehabilitate areas of
the bushland was completed in early August this year—so that is good.
(2) Yes.
(3) Yes. The
department will work with the school to ensure an ongoing maintenance program
of the area is undertaken. It is a great department.
