(i) which firm or firms currently provide a media monitoring service;
(ii) what is the cost of the contract(s);
(iii) since 1 June 2010, how much has been paid for media monitoring services;
(iv) what is the duration of the contract(s); and
(v) when did the contract(s) commence?

Ministerial Office -
(1- a v) The Department of the Premier and Cabinet provides media monitoring services to Ministerial Offices through the Media Monitoring Unit of the Media Office.
WA Police -
(1) (a) Yes.
(i) The Department of Premier and Cabinet's (DPCs) Media Monitoring Unit (MMU) provides media summaries and transcripts to the WA Police on a trial arrangement.
(ii)The current arrangement between the DPC and WA Police is that during the trial there is no cost to the WA Police.
(iii) $1155.00
(iv-v) The contract between WA Police and Media Connect commenced on July 27 2009 and expired in August 2010. There is currently no formal arrangement between DPC's Monitoring Unit and Western Australia Police.
The Office of Road Safety -
(1)
(a) Yes
(i) Media Monitors Pty Ltd provides a media monitoring service to the Office of Road Safety (ORS).
(ii) Depending on the number of topics raised, approximately $5,000 month.
(iii) Using the specified date range of 01 June 2010 - 13 December 2010, $22,614.70 (ex GST) has been paid by the ORS to Media Monitors Pty Ltd (during this specified date range).
(iv) During the time period of 01 June 2010 - 13 December 2010, a Client Service Order contract was in place between the ORS and Media Monitors Pty Ltd.  This Client Service Order expired on 22/01/2011.
(v) The Client Service Order contract commenced 22/01/2009.
The Fire and Emergency Services Authority of Western Australia -
(1)
(a) Yes
(i)     Media Monitors.
(ii)     The cost of the contract varies from month to month, based on clip numbers and broadcast summaries.  Average monthly cost of the service during the 6 month period from 1 June 2010 to 31 December 2010 is $6892 including GST.
(iii)     For the 6 month period$41,351.89 including
GST has been paid for media monitoring services.
(iv)     The existing contract was renewed in July 2007 and is ongoing until terminated by either party.
