I refer to the State Government’s proposed sale of the old Melville Primary School site to the City of Melville. In June 2005, the disposal price of that land was $5.5 million but I believe that figure has now grown by a further $2.5 million to bring the cost up to $8 million. Could the Minister please advise -
(1) What have been the delays in settling this matter?
(2) Who is responsible for causing those delays?
(3) Are there any further delays expected?
(4) Has a date been set for the sale to proceed?
(5) Is the City of Melville the only purchaser vying for this land?
(6) If there are other purchasers vying for the land, who are they?
(7) Will the Government provide the City of Melville with financial assistance through the provision of an interest free loan or another similar type of loan to assist them to meet the new increased purchase price? If not, why not?
