BUSHCHANGE
I ask a supplementary question. Why has the minister given the ill-conceived BushChange program priority over rental subsidies? He has had to make a cut. Why has he made that cut to these rental subsidies that would have benefited the royalty-producing towns such as Karratha, Kalgoorlie and Port Hedland? Why has he prioritised BushChange over the rental subsidy scheme? Mr B.J. GRYLLS

AnswerView source ↗

I have not announced the rental subsidy scheme and I have not announced the BushChange scheme. I am not sure that we have non-prioritised either of those schemes. We are still working on them. I made the point that our focus is on regional officers’ housing. If the member wants to talk about the area that generates royalties and her neglect over so many years—she ignored it; she was responsible for the agency that delivered $2 000 a week rent to people living in that area—I can only say to her, “Fail, fail, fail, fail.”
