PRACTICAL
DRIVING ASSESSMENTS — AUDIT
555. Hon COLIN de GRUSSA to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the review into
shortages in availability of practical driving assessment, or PDA, bookings and
the Department of Transport's move to
conduct audits of learner's permits and PDA bookings, as outlined in
Driving Instructor bulletin 04/22, ''Driving Instructor Learner's
Permit Audit''.
(1) When will the audits commence?
(2) How often will the audits be
conducted, and how will they be carried out?
(3) What action
will be taken against those driving instructors who make multiple and
speculative bookings?
(4) Will the
results of the audits be published and made publicly available in the interests
of transparency?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1)–(4) Audits began in March 2022 and are conducted every
six months. The Department of Transport will remove instructor access to
the system if an instructor is found to be using it for a business advantage.
Further actions will be assessed following the conclusion of investigations.
