SCHOOLS —
MAINTENANCE — FORRESTFIELD ELECTORATE
1055. Hon SAMANTHA ROWE to the
Minister for Education:
With reference to the following primary schools in the
Forrestfield electorate, what is the estimated value and what are the details
of any maintenance currently required —
(1) East Kenwick Primary School;
(2) Kenwick School; and
(3) Maida Vale Primary School?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
All schools are inspected as part of the building condition
assessment process every three years. As the building condition assessment is a
three-year cyclic process, it is not updated in the intervening three-year
period, during which maintenance is completed and/or new items arise. The next building
condition assessment will be undertaken in 2016.
(1) The
building condition assessment process undertaken at East Kenwick Primary School
in 2013 identified maintenance needs of $125 965. Since July 2013, $335 048 has
been spent on maintenance at the school.
(2) The
building condition assessment process undertaken at Kenwick School in 2013
identified maintenance needs of $85 791. Since July 2013, $506 026 has been
spent on maintenance at the school.
(3) The
Building Condition Assessment process undertaken at Maida Vale Primary School
in 2013 identified maintenance needs of $108 318. Since July 2013, $238 400 has
been spent on maintenance at the school.
So those
schools have done very well.
