(a - p) Course enrolments are the measure of student participation in training and are used for reporting in Western Australiarather than places. Course enrolments are validated for the previous year in March of the following year through the National Centre for Vocational Education Research. This validation is a key component of the National Partnership Agreement on Skills and Workforce Development between Western Australiaand the Commonwealth government. Course enrolments have been included in [Tabled Paper No] for 2008 and 2009. Validated course enrolments for 2010 will be available in March 2011.
The Department purchases student curriculum hours (SCH) from State Training Providers. Student curriculum hours are purchased on a calendar year basis not on a semester basis to allow maximum flexibility to State training providers as recommended by the Auditor General and to provide students the greatest opportunity to choose between full time and part time training and qualifications with different student curriculum hours. Student curriculum hours are validated for the previous year in March of the following year. For the purpose of this response, the Department has provided detail of student curriculum hours purchased for 2008 and 2009 in [Tabled Paper No].
The funding per student curriculum hour for each college for 2009 is provided in Appendix 1. This is an averaged cost per student curriculum hour. The funding per student curriculum hour for each college for 2010 is not available until 2010 student curriculum hours are validated in March 2011.
