(2) If yes to (1), on what basis, given that Professor Powles also co-owns one of the farms doing a GM canola ‘trial’?
(3) If the Minister has no concerns about the possible results of Professor Powles research, will the Minister also be giving equal weight to the results from Dr Judy Carman's feeding studies that was funded by the previous Government?

(1) Yes.
(2) Professor Powles has a strong track record in weed research and has published his work in internationally accepted peer-reviewed journals. Professor Powles' research study is funded by the Grains Research and Development Corporation and is in line with research being carried out by other senior academics across Australia.
(3) If Dr Carman publishes her study in a relevant internationally - accepted peer-reviewed journal I would give due consideration to Dr Carman's research results.
