ABORIGINAL CULTURAL HERITAGE ACT — WORKSHOPS
326. Ms M.J. DAVIES to the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs:
I
have a supplementary question. I urge the minister to reconsider. Will the
minister reconsider hosting an education session in the wheatbelt so
that landowners, local governments and people who live in that vast region do
not have to travel to Perth?

I think I mentioned that there is a workshop
in Esperance and Albany, and there is an online session—and one in Bunbury. The department has considered this very
carefully. It cannot be everywhere. There are 13 sessions, including an online session. I am sure that people can find
a way to go to these education sessions. There is also the opportunity to look at the information that is provided on the website. There is sufficient
opportunity —

Dr A.D. BUTI : This is
amazing.
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Order, please!
Dr A.D. BUTI : Members opposite are complaining about
these sessions. They live in Perth. Our National Party members live in Perth.
It cannot be too far to travel from their electorates if they live in Perth.
Mr R.S. Love interjected.
Dr A.D. BUTI : It cannot be
that far to travel from the wheatbelt if they live in Perth. How many of them
live in the regions?
Ms M.J. Davies : I live in
Northam, minister, and that is not the point —
Dr A.D. BUTI : Where does the
Leader of the Opposition live?
Mr R.S. Love : Jurien Bay.
The SPEAKER : Minister!
Dr A.D. BUTI : Oh yeah! How
much time do you spend in Jurien Bay?
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Members, that
concludes question time.
