CLOSED-CIRCUIT TELEVISION STRATEGY
245. Mr M. McGOWAN to the Minister for Police:
I refer to the ministerXXX ###XXXs
promise at the last state election to spend $13.5 million on a closed-circuit
television strategy and the fact that as of late last year the total spend by
the state government was $94 000. Will the minister now commit to delivering
the totality of that promise in the remaining two years of this term?

AnswerView source ↗

I am really pleased that the Leader of the Opposition has
raised that issue. It allows me to go back over the way that we are implementing this election
commitment. The first stage of implementing the election commitment was to
ensure that we had a strategy to inform the best spend for that CCTV
infrastructure project. Members will see that in the existing budget documents, there is a $1.5 million allocation to this commitment. The budget will
be released in May this year and we will be making further announcements with
respect to what is in the budget at that time.
