OAKAJEE PROJECT — STATE AND COMMONWEALTH
FUNDING
356. Hon ALANNA CLOHESY to the
Leader of the House representing the Minister for State Development:
I refer to the proposed $678 million contribution by the
state and commonwealth governments to the development of an Oakajee port.
(1) Does the
state government still intend to pay $339 million into a special-purpose account
in 2015–16?
(2) Does the
minister still expect to receive a $339 million contribution from the
commonwealth; and, if yes, when?
(3) Has the
state government secured a commitment from the commonwealth that the $339 million
will be transferred to an alternative project if the port project does not
proceed within a reasonable period?
(4) If yes to (3), what are the other projects likely to
receive this funding?
(5) If no to (3), why not?
