Given that the minister has now admitted that she gave incorrect information to the House during budget estimates - Withdrawal of Remark Mr J.C. KOBELKE: Mr Speaker, I draw your attention to the standing order that does not allow questions to contain imputations, particularly supplementary questions. That was not a question. The member has made an imputation against the minister and he should be asked to withdraw it or sit down. The SPEAKER: It is clear that if the member indicates in his question that the person has misled the House, it is an imputation. I ask the member to withdraw that comment and ask whatever supplementary question he might have. Mr M.J. BIRNEY: I withdraw. Questions without Notice Resumed Mr M.J. BIRNEY: Why has the minister not yet taken the opportunity to correct the parliamentary record, given that she found out about this incident yesterday afternoon? Mrs M.H. ROBERTS

I believe I have clarified that answer. Members opposite are being rather cute, if not completely nasty, about this. Mr M.J. Birney: Why didn’t you correct the record? Mrs M.H. ROBERTS: As far as I am concerned the record has been corrected. I have fully explained the incident. I do not understand what further issue the Opposition has with this incident. From my point of view, the issue with the safety of the Glock guns is a storm in a teacup. There is nothing in the incident that occurred that demonstrates that there is a single problem with the safety of the Glock pistols. The fact of the matter is that there is an amateur opposite who does not like the gun for some reason, even though it is the gun of choice of over 600 professional policing agencies throughout the world, including the New South Wales and Queensland police. Several members interjected. The SPEAKER: I call the members for Kalgoorlie and Perth to order for the third time each.
