On 9 th December amendments to the Community Protection (Offender Reporting) Regulations 2004 will be published in the Government Gazette which will enable the Commissioner to make application to the courts using "Prescribed Forms" for a person's name to be included on the Sex Offender's Register.

(a-c) The Western Australia Police advise under the provisions of the
Community Protection (Offender Reporting) Act
2004
, the person concerned does not automatically qualify for the register. The person will automatically be required to be registered if convicted of the current matter before the courts.
