Exactly, Mr President! I am
representing the parliamentary secretary to the Minister for Sport and
Recreation without notice, I might add. Again, I ask whether the honourable
member is happy for me to answer this question, noting that I am seeing it now
for the first time. I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1) Yes.
(2) (a) In 2012,
VenuesWest undertook a master planning exercise at the HBF Arena that
identified a number of spaces that could be developed for sports, four areas of
which will be completed as part of the HBF Arena development project. Two areas
that are not part of the development project are a small area to the west end
of the existing main pool building and an area in the south west of the site
that is a very large compensating basin developed for stormwater drainage with
capacity to accommodate a one-in-100-year storm. Neither of these areas have
been surveyed.
(b) There are no current plans to
develop these areas.
(3) Not applicable.
