I ask this question on behalf of Hon
Jim Chown, who is on urgent parliamentary business.
I refer to question without notice 625.
(1) Has the
minister received the decision from the State Solicitor's Office with
regard to animal cruelty charges being warranted for the mass cattle deaths at Yandeyarra
and Noonkanbah stations?
(2) If yes to
(1), will the minister table the response received from the State Solicitor's
Office for both Yandeyarra and Noonkanbah stations; and, if not, why not?
(3) If no to (1),
when is the response expected to be received from the State Solicitor's
Office?

Solicitor's Office has advised that in relation to the Yandeyarra
investigation, advice is now expected at the end of August, and in relation to
the Noonkanbah investigation, towards the end of September. As the member would appreciate, resources in the State
Solicitor's Office have been focused o n the government's
response to the COVID-19 pandemic and to protecting the state against the
extravagant claims of Clive Palmer.
