I refer to the ongoing encouragement of a viable long-term wood-processing industry with the Wood Processing (WESFI) Agreement Bill 2000. Clause H of the schedule provides that the company has agreed to negotiate in good faith with the State to secure an arrangement whereby the company will contribute a minimum of $1 million per annum during the term of the agreement to a scheme for the creation and management by the State on crown reserves of softwood plantations of the species pinus radiata on commercial terms acceptable to the company and the State where a scheme for the creation and management by the State on crown reserves of softwood plantations of the species pinus radiata.
