I gave notice of this last Wednesday. I was told on Wednesday that the answers would not be available until Friday. On Friday I was told that the answers would not be available until Tuesday. Several members interjected. The PRESIDENT: Order! Hon PETER FOSS: I asked the question yesterday, and the member did not even have a note of it. Before I ask the question, does the parliamentary secretary have it today? Hon Graham Giffard: What is the question? Hon PETER FOSS: The one I asked yesterday. Hon Graham Giffard: I cannot remember the question you asked me yesterday. Hon PETER FOSS: The parliamentary secretary better have it today. The parliamentary secretary’s performance to date has been hopeless. His minister has not even bothered to tell him that she will not answer it. I refer to the parliamentary secretary’s answer of Tuesday, 1 April 2003 regarding tabled paper 468. Does the parliamentary secretary have that one? Hon Graham Giffard: Yes. Hon PETER FOSS: Good. I will complete the question. (1) Did Dr Peter Lawrence ever work in the Perth urban rail development office of the Department of Transport; if so, during what dates? (2) Was Dr Peter Lawrence ever employed by the Department for Planning and Infrastructure or any other agency or predecessor agency now in the minister’s portfolio, whether or not that employment was prior to the current Government taking office; if so, for what periods was he employed? (3) What is the Government’s understanding of Dr Peter Lawrence’s relationship to Asymptote Consulting? (4) What manner of body does the Government understand itself to be contracted to in its contract with Asymptote Consulting - for example, partnership, single person business, Australian company or foreign company? (5) Does the Asymptote Consulting engaged by the Government have any relationship to the French consulting group of the same name and which previously used the same logo? (7) Does Dr Peter Lawrence hold any official position within the department such as, for instance, future Perth strategic evaluation project modeller? Hon GRAHAM GIFFARD
