GROUNDWATER MANAGEMENT — SOUTH WEST
710. Hon SALLY TALBOT to the
min ister representing the Minister for
Water:
I refer to a draft
report prepared by the University of Western Australia titled ''A
Regulatory Framework for Groundwater Management in a Drying South West''.
(1) Does the government have a plan to combat
the over-allocation of groundwater from the seven groundwater management areas
in the south west?
(2) If yes to (1),
what is the plan and is it publicly available?
(3) Does it include plans for mandatory
licences for domestic bore users and commercial plantation managers?

I am sorry, but I do
not have an answer for the member on that question.
Hon SALLY TALBOT : This question originally went to the Minister
for Agriculture and Food and was then redirected to the minister in his
capacity as representing the Minister for Water in this place.
Hon Ken Baston : I have only one question here, which is dated
2 May, C507.
The PRESIDENT : I invite ministers and parliamentary
secretaries to search their files for that and they may be able to provide the
answer at some stage later on.
