ROE HIGHWAY STAGE 8 —
STOCK ROAD INTERCHANGE
751. Ms R. SAFFIOTI to the Minister for
Transport:
I refer to the minister's
statement today outlining a budget of $540 million for the Roe 8 project.
(1) Will the
government be going out to tender for the Stock Road interchange given it is
outside the scope of the current contract?
(2) On what basis
has the government provided an estimate of the interchange of $110 million?
(3) Is the
government still committed to the heavy vehicle user charge and how much of the
$15 million allocated for this year has been spent?

AnswerView source ↗

That is three questions.
(1)–(3) The
budget estimate for the entire project is $540 million. There are two
contracts. The first contract is for the section between Kwinana Freeway and
Coolbellup, which is worth about $340 million. Another contract has been
completed, having received environmental approval, a component of which is the
Stock Road interchange. That contract is worth about $110 million. Those two
contracts will be combined into one contract, making the total cost of the
contract $450 million.
