DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CRISIS SUMMIT
580. Ms L. METTAM to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question. How can we believe the
government will address family and domestic violence issues when within an hour
of today's emergency summit, the Minister for Police has already
dismissed a key recommendation from the sector?

Madam Speaker, you and the
Western Australian people can be assured that we are committed to this policy
outcome because we are the first government in this state's
history to have a dedicated Minister for Prevention of Family and Domestic
Violence. We have invested a record $200 million since being elected in 2017,
and we will continue to find and allocate resources so we can have the
appropriate wraparound and collaboration between departments to ensure that we
support people impacted by family and domestic violence.
