I refer to the issue of additional bus services for residents in the northern suburbs. (1) Are there any plans for the introduction of a bus service for residents of Landsdale, Madeley and Darch to the Kingsway City Shopping Centre and Whitfords train station? (2) If so, what is the timetable for the introduction of this service? (3) If not, why not? Hon ADELE FARINA

I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) Landsdale, Madeley and Darch are currently serviced by Transperth bus route 352. This bus service operates via the Woodvale shopping centre to Whitfords train station, where it connects with the train service to Perth. Future plans for the Landsdale, Madeley and Darch areas include a further two bus routes, one of which will operate past the Kingsway City Shopping Centre to Greenwood train station. (2)-(3) There is no time frame yet for the introduction of these further two bus routes. The introduction of these bus services is dependent on the completion of the local road network within these suburbs and the availability of resources. The allocation of routes is a process under continual review.
