I refer to the D’Entrecasteaux National Park, and the Lake Jasper area in particular. (1) What studies have been undertaken in relation to wetland bird species in the Lake Jasper-Gingilup wetland system, by whom and when? (2) What surveys have been undertaken in relation to the migratory birds in the above area, by whom and when? (3) Will the minister please table all survey documents in relation to these studies? (1)-(3) On 21 May 2005 the Minister for the Environment released for public comment a draft management plan for the Shannon and D’Entrecasteaux National Parks. Lake Jasper is in the D’Entrecasteaux National Park. The draft management plan listed 213 references that were used in compiling the draft plan. The minister has undertaken to write to the member advising which of those references relates to studies and surveys relevant to the member’s question. The Gingilup wetland system is being covered in a separate management planning process currently being conducted by the Department of Conservation and Land Management. The minister’s advice to the member will provide the requested information for that area.
